Moving history, exciting times
The history of Wernsing started in 1962 in Addrup, Lower Saxony, when 28-year-old Heinrich Wernsing founded a production base for french fries. This laid the foundation for a success story, during the course of which, the small family business became a modern, dynamic and responsible corporation – the Wernsing Food Family Group of companies.
Based in Addrup, at home in Europe
While production was particularly centred on french fries at the beginning, further products were added over the years. From fine potato salads to crunchy raw vegetable salads, right up to an extensive range of delicatessen salads and delicious ready meals. Today, the Wernsing Food Family is represented in virtually every country in Europe with numerous food brands.
Through the acquisition of national and international companies and production premises, the Wernsing Food Family has grown quickly and continuously. In the meantime, it is represented with 15 individual operations in six European countries. In addition to the German home market, the family of companies particularly positioned itself strongly in the Netherlands, however it has also developed an impressive market size in Belgium, Poland, Denmark and Sweden.
